Kiana Bierria-Anderson is a lifelong activist and organizer fighting for economic, racial, and social justice. Originally from Long Island, she's dedicated her career to building power for marginalized communities and challenging systems of oppression. Kiana is passionate about creating a more just and equitable world where everyone has the opportunity to thrive. She is a skilled communicator, fundraiser, and strategist, and she is committed to using her skills to uplift the voices of those who have been historically marginalized.
In her spare time, she indulges in hobbies like video gaming and creative writing.
Kiana authored a master’s thesis, "Building a Bench to Lead the Way," that explored the effectiveness of political organizations and parties in electing women to local office on Long Island. Her research highlights her commitment to gender equity in politics and her understanding of the barriers women face when running for office.
Kiana has aided many individuals from similarly marginalized communities run for office. She has supported candidates across the country, training candidates and their staff in the most effective campaign strategies for their success.
As a member of the Movement Building Steering Committee for the Redlich Horwitz Retreat, Kiana collaborated with impacted individuals and advocates to strategize best practices for achieving systemic change.
Kiana was also a leader in the "Save Cleveland Park" campaign; a successful campaign to save the last local community green space from development. The success of this campaign stopped legislation that transferred of ownership of the park from a local public school district to the municipal government, engaged New York State Governor Kathy Hochul to oppose the legislation, and received the investigative support of New York State Attorney General Leticia James.
Kiana has designed and implemented groundbreaking training programs focused on race and gender issues, helping candidates build resilience and authenticity in their campaigns.
